Introducing $KDT — the ecosystem token in development

Every healthy economy needs a way to move value. For the Music Economy of Pi, we believe that mechanism should be simple, fair and built around the people who actually create — the artists and the fans who show up for them.

That belief is the starting point for $KDT: an ecosystem token we are designing to reward creativity, deepen fan participation and give real utility to the platform we are building on Pi.

A token is not the point. What people can do with it is. $KDT is being designed utility-first — value follows real use, not the other way around.

Why an ecosystem token

Streaming platforms have historically concentrated value at the top. A small number of intermediaries capture most of the economics, while the creators who generate the culture receive a fraction. We think a native token can help rebalance that — not through speculation, but by making contribution measurable and rewardable.

$KDT is intended to be the connective tissue of the KADET ecosystem: a shared unit that lets creators earn, fans participate, and the platform coordinate incentives across everything we build.

Rewarding the people who create

Creators are the reason a music platform exists. We are designing $KDT so that meaningful contribution — releasing music, growing an audience, engaging a community — can translate into tangible rewards over time.

  • Recognition for consistent, high-quality releases.
  • Rewards tied to genuine engagement rather than empty metrics.
  • Pathways for emerging artists to build momentum, not just established names.

Fan participation, not just consumption

Fans are more than a stream count. They discover artists early, champion new releases and hold communities together. $KDT is being designed to let fans take an active role — supporting the creators they believe in and sharing in the growth they help create.

The goal is a two-sided economy where supporting an artist is easy, direct and rewarding for everyone involved.

A utility-first philosophy

We are deliberately leading with utility. Before value, before markets, the question we keep asking is: what can someone actually do with $KDT inside KADET? Utility is what gives a token life — a currency without a use is just a number on a screen.

  • Payments and tipping across the platform.
  • Access to creator tools, features and experiences.
  • Rewards that recirculate value back into the ecosystem.

Part of a larger music economy

$KDT does not exist in isolation. It is one piece of a broader vision: a creator-first music economy built natively on Pi, where discovery, distribution and monetisation work together. As the ecosystem matures, the token is intended to help these parts move in the same direction.

Governance, in time

Communities build best when they have a voice. In the longer term, we are exploring how $KDT could support governance — giving the people most invested in KADET a say in how it evolves. This is a direction we want to grow into responsibly, with the community, rather than rush.

The road ahead

Our roadmap for $KDT is intentionally staged: get the platform and its utility right first, then introduce token mechanics carefully, with transparency at every step. We would rather move deliberately and earn trust than chase hype.
