Over six years ago, I tapped a button on my phone for the very first time.
Like millions of others, I didn't know exactly where the journey would lead.
People laughed. People called Pi a scam. People said it would never launch. People said mining on a phone was a waste of time.
Yet millions of us kept showing up every day. Not because we were promised instant wealth. But because we believed in building something different.
Today, after more than six years as a Pioneer, I can honestly say this:
Pi was never just about mining a coin. It has always been about building an economy.
The Question Everyone Asks
Whenever the market goes down, the same question appears everywhere: “Why is the price falling?”
It's a fair question. But I think we're asking the wrong one. A better question is: What can Pi actually do?
Because every successful currency in history became valuable only after people found meaningful ways to use it.
- Gold has value because people use it.
- The dollar has value because businesses accept it.
- The internet became powerful because developers built on it.
- Technology becomes valuable when it solves problems.
The same applies to Pi.
Pi Is Moving Toward Utility
This year's Pi2Day wasn't centered on hype. Instead, the Core Team introduced products that expand Pi's practical use, including:
- Pi Sign-in, allowing Pi accounts to be used with supported third-party apps.
- PiVerify, bringing Pi's identity verification to external businesses.
- SoloHost, giving developers a way to build and run AI-related applications and services.
These releases point toward a broader goal: making Pi useful beyond simply holding a token.
Utility Creates Value
Imagine owning a beautiful car... but never driving it. Imagine owning a house... but never living in it. Imagine owning gold... but never using it.
Eventually you begin to ask: “What is the point?”
A currency without utility is just a number on a screen. Utility is what gives it life.

For me, mining Pi was only the beginning. Building with Pi is the next chapter.
